This explains what information Olliver Web collects when you visit olliverweb.co.nz, why, and the choices you have. Olliver Web is a web-development business run by Daniel Olliver, based in Auckland, New Zealand.
What this site collects
- Analytics. This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use it: pages viewed, device type, approximate location from your IP address, and how you arrived. It helps me improve the site and see whether advertising is working.
- Advertising. If you reach this site through a Google ad, Google may set a cookie so it can measure that ad's performance. No advertising runs on the site itself.
- What you send me. If you use the enquiry form, email or call me, I receive your contact details and whatever you choose to include. I use it only to reply and discuss possible work.
There is no customer account, login or payment form on this site, so it does not collect passwords or card details.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets cookies to tell repeat visits apart and measure usage. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's Analytics opt-out add-on. Blocking them will not stop the site working.
Who else is involved
The site is hosted on Google Firebase Hosting, and analytics and ad measurement are provided by Google. Google handles that data under its own privacy policy.
Enquiry forms are processed by Web3Forms, which forwards the submission to my email. Its infrastructure is located in the United States and it may temporarily retain technical server logs. I do not sell your information to anyone.
How long it is kept
Analytics data is retained according to Google's settings (currently up to 14 months). Form submissions are available in the Web3Forms dashboard for up to 30 days on the free plan. Emails and enquiries are kept while we are in contact and for a reasonable time after, then deleted.
Your rights
Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 you can ask what personal information I hold about you and ask me to correct it. Email [email protected] and I will help. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
Security
The site is served entirely over HTTPS, and I take reasonable steps to protect any information you send me.
Changes
I may update this policy as the site changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
